LAHORE: Announcing to provide interest-free loans to farmers, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz said on Friday that providing relief and making life easier for the masses was his mission and he would do his utmost to serve the people.
“As of July 1, 2022, the supply of free drugs to public sector hospitals across the province is being started while the student laptop program is being restarted, in addition to construction new routes and the launch of the Food and Drug Authority in the coming days,” the CM said. delivers a closing speech at the Punjab Assembly session in Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Friday.
Hamza argued that the constitutional crisis that has been created in the province was unprecedented and accused Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and the PTI of trampling on the Constitution. “The president continued to call and adjourn the meetings of the assembly; thus wasting public money,” he added.
The CM was of the opinion that the leaders of the PTI had spoken of a “bloody march” only to save their political image. “Despite Supreme Court orders, PTI workers damaged public property in the red zone,” he said.
Hamza alleged that President Arif Alvi flouted the constriction and proved his loyalty to Imran Niazi instead of the country. He added that the people of Punjab were facing hardship due to illegal actions in Punjab. “We had given a subsidy of Rs 200 billion to provide subsidized flour to the people of Punjab,” he said.
The CM claimed that the PTI government had even snatched the supply of free drugs from the people, but now the people will be able to get free drugs from all hospitals in Punjab from July 1, 2022. He added that more facilities would be offered to people under the health card.
Hamza said that the PML-N came to power to serve the masses and would introduce changes in the law on local bodies to make it favorable to the people. He criticized Imran Niazi for creating unrest in the country, but warned that the law would take its course if an untoward situation arises. Later, the session of the Punjab Assembly at Aiwan-e-Iqbal was adjourned to meet again on June 27 at 2 p.m.
Additionally, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif said in a tweet that she meant no ill will against anyone including Prime Minister Imran Khan.
She hinted that although she has no malice against anyone, even against him (Imran Khan), the reward process for his misdeeds is an inescapable fact. In support of her view, she also quoted a stanza by Urdu poet King Bahadur Shah Zafar in which the last Mughal king referred to his up and down situation in his life.
